The European Cultural Centre exhibition "VENICE DESIGN 2016"
In the context of the 15th International Architecture Exhibition of la Biennale di Venezia 2016, the European Cultural Centre presents its exhibition "VENICE DESIGN 2016" in one of its prestigious Palazzi in Venice, Palazzo Michiel.
We would like to acknowledge that all human discoveries and achievements, be it in science, art or any other discipline, should lead to a greater awareness about our existence, the existence of all matter and our position within time and space. Architecture, of the past and of today, forces us to consider and re-consider.
In the exhibition we bring together Design, from many different cultures. Humans with different points of view. Co-existing thoughts and ideas from the last 50 years, which could be the basis of the thoughts of the future. With their projects, designers often have an enormous impact on the way we humans experience the quality of our surrounding. They influence our daily existence and leave a mark on the earth from this current Time and often this ‘mark' even outlives the designer him/ herself. Designers should be very conscious about the impact their activities and decisions have on people and other living beings, as well as on our environment as a total.
In the exhibition, we will dedicate several separate rooms, each to one designer or design firm and other additional spaces will be used to present a combination of designers. We want to present works, dreams, concepts and ideas, that clearly present the designers points of view within each given space and at the same time help to build a strong statement for the exhibition as a total.
The EUROPEAN CULTURAL CENTRE exhibition "VENICE DESIGN 2016" should, beside stimulating communication and collaboration between all people involved, create a more conscious relation from the viewer towards his daily surrounding and help to enlarge the spectator's awareness for his/her Existence as a human being within a specific Space and Time.
